All models in the range have new wheels. The R and RL come with six-spoke 18" alloys as standard, 12-spoke 19" wheels as an option. The T has standardised on a seven-spoke 19" rim, with a five-spoke design also available. And all Arnage wheels can be chrome-finished. The interior has also been substantially upgraded, with a neater fascia top to reposition the satellite navigation display, a revised centre console, and the hiding away of some minor controls - not, as a lesser manufacturer might have done, behind plastic flaps, but behind small real-wood panels.
In one of the rare moments when it talks like that lesser manufacturer, Bentley says that while prices have risen, the fact that a number of items which were previously extra-cost options are now included in the standard specification. In fact, the entry-level Arnage R now costs £160,000, there’s an extra price to pay for the special-order RL with its 250mm longer wheelbase, and the more sporting Arnage T, offering extra performance as a reminder that the current saloon range takes its name from the famous corner at Le Mans, is in the catalogue at £170,000.
Almost No Limit But customers can have their Arnage painted "any colour from the spectrum", and matching of different leather hides can also be considered. In the kind of remark that could only have come from Crewe, Bentley says that "the only constraints are of imagination, and perhaps the broad bands of good taste". |
