£1 Deposit For Great Wall Pickup
(Friday 13 July 2012)
In its fight to become established on the UK market, Chinese manufacturer Great Wall has come up with a deal in which the process of buying its Steed pickup (in entry-level S form) costs just £1.
That's the initial deposit, and it's followed by 59 monthly payments of £285.06, plus one final payment of £424.06. This means you'll end up paying £17,243.60 rather than the £13,998 CVOTR list price, but of course it's all about cashflow.
The offer applies only to business customers, and is available on vehicles bought between now and September 30.
If you don't already know about it, the Steed is a four-wheel drive double cab pickup with a two-litre turbo diesel engine. Combined fuel economy is 34mpg, the maximum payload is 1050kg, the towing limit with a braked trailer is 2000kg, and there's a three-year/60,000-mile mechanical warranty, three-year paint warranty, six-year anti-perforation warranty and three years' worth of roadside assistance.
