More special edition models from Chrysler Jeep, each in this case bearing the title Sport.

The Grand Cherokee version gets, above the entry-level spec, air conditioning, six-way power adjustable cloth seats, front fog lamps, 16" alloy wheels and a CD player. It's available in three colours - black, metallic silver or metallic Patriot blue - of which the last two bring with them a £400 price hike.

That extra aside, the Grand Cherokee Sport costs £24,995 for the four-litre petrol version, or £26,695 if you pick the 2.7 CRD turbo diesel instead.

There's just one engine option for the PT Cruiser Sport, namely the two-litre petrol unit. Costing £13,995, this car is essentially available in Classic spec but with the addition of a roof-mounted, body-coloured spoiler and 16" alloys. The colour is anything you like as long as it's graphite metallic.

Chrysler Jeep says that all the Sport models will be available from dealers (though in limited numbers) by the end of January.
