(02 May 04) In the report, cars were divided into seven classes and rated according to how few breakdowns were listed per 1000 examples of each model. The MINI was the only UK-built class winner. Germany had three - the Audi A2, the Audi A6/S6 and the Mercedes-Benz SLK. Nissan won another class with the Almera Tino, while the other category leaders were the Toyota RAV-4 and Avensis. Almost 36% of all the breakdowns dealt with last year were caused by faults in the electrical system, the weak point of so many modern designs. |
