(Thu 07 Dec 06) Film star Samuel L Jackson has become one of the most high-profile customers of the luxury Maybach saloon. Jackson and his wife La Tanya recently visited the Maybach Centre of Excellence in Stuttgart and ordered a 612bhp 57 S with a number of personalised options.
Sensibly enough for a couple living in California, these include a solar roof panel, which produces the power required to control the interior temperature while the car is stationary. The Jacksons also specified Mercedes-Benz Designo paintwork, a refrigerator, champagne glasses, silver tumblers and folding tables. Jackson was a Mercedes enthusiast well before he bought an example of the company's most luxurious models. He already owns a current S-Class and a classic 280 SE convertible.
