Towing capacity has gone up to three tonnes, maximum payload is one tonne, and there's more load space thanks to a 60mm increase in the height of the side walls. Standard equipment across the range includes front airbags (side airbags for the front seats are optional), ABS, seatbelt pretensioners, an in-dash CD/MP3 player, five cupholders and a pull-out tray on the instrument panel for storing stationery. As before, there will be a Thunder version which adds various pieces of exterior chrome to the package. "New Ranger is a very stylish yet durable vehicle," says Ford of Britain's Commercial Vehicles Director Gary Whittam. "It really deserves its 'tough truck' label, and now offers higher levels of comfort and practicality. Sales of Ranger have more than doubled over the last five years, and we are confident that the all-new Ranger will attract even more new customers who will certainly feel the difference." Prices for the Ranger will be announced this summer. Previous: Mazda Reveals New Pickup Next: Used SUV Prices Falling 08/03/06 News: Ford Develops Training Programme |
