(Thu 12 Apr 07) Renault is launching a new diesel engine for its Megane Renaultsport hot hatch.
Fitted with a two-litre 175bhp dCi engine, the model has fuel economy of 43.5 mpg 172g/km CO2 emissions and is and insurance group 12E. 0-62mph is achieved in 8.3 seconds and top speed is 137mhp Coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, the 2.0 175 dCI has peak torque of 360Nm at 2,000 rpm, while the maximum 175bhp is available at 3750 rpm. Visually, the only difference between the petrol and diesel Mégane Renaultsport versions is the lack of rear spoiler on the dCi 175. The new model is available in two trim levels – dCi 175 and Lux, in either three- or five-door hatchback, priced £18,950 to £20,850.
The Megane Renaultsport range now consists of eight models, available in either three-door Sport Hatch or five-door Hatch variants, ranging in petrol and diesel power from 175hp to 230hp. Renault Gallery |
