Split into seven teams of two drivers, they will leave Marlow in Buckinghamshire on June 23 (flagged off by former Ferrari F1 Technical Director Ross Brawn) and will wend their way in a slow and noisy but not unamusing way for 1000 miles before reaching Monaco on June 29. All the cars will carry the 118 118 branding of directory enquiries company The Number UK, which has already made a contribution to the £75,000 the organisers hope to raise in aid of the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust. "The idea of the tour started in the pub but has gained a life all of its own," says Tour Secretary Richard Lambert. "We now have a major sponsor and expect to raise a significant amount of money for the Air Ambulance. "It's a great cause and the backing of 118 118 means a huge amount to us." "As soon as we heard of the Tour we knew it was something we had to be involved in," adds Mark Horgan, CEO of The Number UK. "It's such a great idea, and a really enjoyable way to raise much needed funds for an excellent cause. Those involved are investing a lot of their own time and money in this event, and the least we could do is help out with a contribution. "We wish them luck – having seen the cars I think they'll need it!" For more details visit www.rosbifsandsnails.com. Previous: Vauxhall Corsa SRi Returns Next: New Mazda6 Special Edition |
