(Thu 07 Jun 07) Prince Charles has been at the wheel of two environmentally friendly cars this week.
Prior to this week's Brighton to London eco rally, the Prince drove special versions of the Saab 9-3 Convertible and the Ford Focus. The Saab was the BioPower convertible model, which runs on E85 - a mixture of 85% bioethanol and 15% regular fossil-based petrol which the Prince already uses in some of his own private vehicles.
The Saab is already on sale, but the Ford isn't likely to be for some time. This particular model was the Focus FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle), which runs on electricity created by combining oxygen and hydrogen in a fuel cell stack.
