Toyota Success In J D Power

Two very different cars from the Toyota stable have come equal top in a leading customer satisfaction survey.

Toyota Prius 19.

The Toyota Prius and the Lexus IS sports saloon both scored 868 points out of a possible 1000 in the 2007 J D Power and Associates/What Car? Customer Satisfaction Index, the Prius being the first hybrid ever to reach the top of the list. The Honda Jazz was a close third on 864, followed by the Lexus RX (854) and the Skoda Octavia (851).

Lexus also came top in the manufacturers' category - for the seventh consecutive year! - on 862, with Honda and Skoda tying on 845. Down at the bottom were Fiat (756), Alfa Romeo (754), smart (750) and finally Chrysler (748).

Lexus IS 10 - 220d Sport.

The study is based on information supplied by over 18,000 UK car owners. Marks are given for quality and reliability (30% of the total), vehicle appeal (28%), dealer service satisfaction (22%) and ownership costs (19%).
