(Thu 10 May 07) Two very different cars from the Toyota stable have come equal top in a leading customer satisfaction survey.
The Toyota Prius and the Lexus IS sports saloon both scored 868 points out of a possible 1000 in the 2007 J D Power and Associates/What Car? Customer Satisfaction Index, the Prius being the first hybrid ever to reach the top of the list. The Honda Jazz was a close third on 864, followed by the Lexus RX (854) and the Skoda Octavia (851). Lexus also came top in the manufacturers' category - for the seventh consecutive year! - on 862, with Honda and Skoda tying on 845. Down at the bottom were Fiat (756), Alfa Romeo (754), smart (750) and finally Chrysler (748).
The study is based on information supplied by over 18,000 UK car owners. Marks are given for quality and reliability (30% of the total), vehicle appeal (28%), dealer service satisfaction (22%) and ownership costs (19%). |
