(Fri 30 Nov 07) Subaru has announced the UK price of its range-topping, high-performance Impreza WRX STI, which will go on sale here next March.
The new car will cost £24,995, or £1600 less than the previous STI. For less money you get more power - the maximum output of the 2.5-litre turbocharged engine has been boosted to 296bhp, which gives the car a top speed of 155mph and a 0-60mph time of 4.8 seconds. At the same time, combined fuel economy has improved to 27.4mpg. A more powerful version tuned by Prodrive (the company which runs Subaru's World Rally Championship team, among other activities) will become available later in 2008.
