(Wed 09 Apr 08) Chevrolet has brought out a new version of its entry-level Matiz 0.8S which will cost its owners less in tax. The revised car now has a CO2 rating of 119/gkm.
This drops it into VED Band B, so annual car tax falls to £35 in the price structure which came into operation at the start of April. Under the new system announced by Alistair Darling in his first Budget, the tax bill will fall to £30 in 2009 before rising again to £35 in 2010. From October this year the 0.8S will also be exempt from the London congestion charge. Pricing remains the same at £6245 on the road.
