Chevrolet's Fitting Room

(Fri 11 Apr 08)

According to recent research commissioned by Chevrolet, 72% of us like to use our cars to convey our personalities, but 95% have no idea what we actually look like behind the wheel.

Chevrolet Fitting Room.

In an effort to sort out this obvious conflict, Chevrolet has created what seems to be the world's first drive-in fitting room. Located at a dealership in South London, it consists of a large central platform surrounded by three giant mirrors. Drivers put their cars on the platform, which can then be turned through 360 degrees using a remote control unit so that they can study themselves from all angles.

"You wouldn't dream of buying a dress or suit without trying it on first," says Nicky Hambleton of the Channel 4 television programme 10 Years Younger, "so why should it be any different when it comes to buying a car? After all, you never know who might pull up next to you at the lights.

"Well done Chevrolet for creating the first drive-in fitting room letting us literally try on our cars - and bringing a much needed touch of glamour to forecourts."
