(Thu 28 Aug 08) Land Rover has announced a four-year sponsorship agreement with both Premier Rugby - the umbrella organisation of the twelve clubs in the Guinness Premiership - and the Rugby Football Union.
The deal involves Land Rover providing vehicles for the RFU, the Premiership clubs and the England squad. Land Rover is also to be the title sponsor of the Premiership Cup, a tournament for Under 11 and Under 12 teams run in conjunction with the Premiership clubs. "Today marks an exciting development of the partnership between Land Rover and rugby," says Marketing Director Anthony Bradbury. "Not only do we have extensions to our existing agreements with Premier Rugby and the RFU, but we are excited about the new Land Rover Premiership Cup which will aim to get even more young people involved in the sport. "Land Rover and rugby share a number of common values – both the players and the vehicles go further than any other and push their limits. Today's announcement further illustrates our commitment to rugby at all levels of the game from the elite of the England team and the 12 premiership clubs to the next generation of players across the country."
