(Mon 18 Feb 08) "The S2000 has always been a raw, exciting, performance car," says Honda UK's Head of Marketing Tom Gardner, "but some found the car a little too edgy in some conditions." Our own view is that the S2000 couldn't handle its own prodigious power in a manner that would be remotely sensible on normal roads, though its tendency to slip and slide at high revs would be fine on a race circuit.
Whichever way you look at it, Honda has had a rethink (not its first) about the suspension settings, and the revised version is now on sale in this country. Now identical to the Japanese-spec S2000 Type-S, the UK car has stiffer springs, thicker anti-roll bars and retuned dampers. Other changes include a redesigned headrest frame for better rollover protection, new 17" five spoke alloy wheels, a new paint scheme called Synchro Silver and three new leather interior colour choices: black with red stitching, brown with red stitching and red with black sides. The S2000 costs £28,050 as a Roadster and £28,600 as a GT with removable hardtop. Honda Gallery Previous: Citroen C5 Arrives In April Next: More Saab Diesels |
