(Wed 20 Feb 08) The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione has been widely acclaimed as one of the best-looking cars, and we expect a similar reaction to the convertible version which will be formally launched at the Geneva Show.
The 8C Spider uses the same 450bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine and six-speed paddle shift gearbox as the Competizione, but it also has a twin-layer fabric roof which can be raised or lowered by pressing a button on the dashboard. As with the Competizione, just 500 Spiders will be built. Alfa Romeo is expressing confidence that they will all be snapped up pretty quickly.
