Under the name of BMW Performance, BMW has introduced a large range of retrofit accessories for 1-Series and 3-Series models.

Although it wasn't entirely clear at the time, the new products were showcased on the Concept 1-Series tii which was displayed at last year's Tokyo Show. The most obvious is the aerodynamic kit (front spoiler and side skirts) which - like the carbonfibre-exterior door mirrors - is available for the 1-Series only. Both 1- and 3-Series customers can opt for the rear carbonfibre spoiler or carbon diffuser.

Other BMW Performance features include a carbonfibre air intake and a sport exhaust system (both for six-cylinder cars only), uprated brakes, lowered and stiffened suspension, 18" or 19" alloy wheels and a strut brace. Inside, there's a choice of sports seats (not for Convertibles), a short-shift gearlever, a multifunction sports steering wheel and various lightweight interior components.

Prices have not yet been confirmed, but all BMW Performance parts will be available from UK dealers in April, and they all carry a BMW warranty.
