(Mon 28 Jan 08) Mitsubishi will use the Geneva Show to show us what the hatchback version of the new Lancer will look like.
The Lancer Prototype-S which will be on display at Geneva will be stuffed full of impressive technology, a lot of it carried over from the new Evolution X. But that's not the really important bit. What matters is that Mitsubishi needs a hatchback in Europe; the company expects that 70% of its European Lancer sales will be of hatchbacks, and that the figure will be as high as 80% in the UK. Another Mitsubishi on the stand at Geneva will be the i-EV, an electric city car based on the existing i which gives "an indication of Mitsubishi’s commitment to innovative environment-friendly solutions". |
