| Nissan Qashqai+2 Premiere | ||

(Fri 04 Jul 08) The most important model on the Nissan stand at the British International Motor Show will be the Qashqai+2.
As previously reported, this is a longer version of the regular Qashqai which has an extra 90 litres of luggage space and two "occasional" rear seats in a third row for carrying children or small adults. The +2 has never been displayed in public before, and it's appropriate that it should make its debut in the UK since it's built at Nissan's factory in Sunderland, which has now gone to a three-shift system to cope with demand for the Qashqai. A five-seat Qashqai will also be on display at ExCel. This one is called Sound & Style, and it features a bespoke Bose sound system as well as various styling modifications including 18" alloy wheels. It sounds a bit like a concept, but actually it's a special edition which will go on sale - with a choice of two-litre petrol and diesel engines - in November this year.
Other Nissans on show in London will include the fabulously fast GT-R, the Denki Cube electric city car concept (pictured) and a special edition of the Micra which celebrates 25 years of Nissan selling cars of that name in the UK. |
