(Fri 04 Jul 08) Yet another car to make its UK debut at the British International Motor Show (ExCel, London, July 22-August 3) is the Lexus LF-A sports car concept.
The LF-A was first revealed back in 2005, and the development programme has been going on ever since - for example, the car competed in the recent Nürburgring 24 Hour race. It uses a high-revving V10 engine which produces around 500bhp and, as Lexus rather neatly puts it, that amount of power makes "a top speed of more than 200mph not only possible, but probable". Lexus will also be displaying its IS F sports saloon, which has a storming 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds thanks to its 417bhp five-litre V8 engine. But it's not all about performance; the Lexus stand will also feature several hybrids, including the RX 400h SUV and the wonderful LS 600h limousine.
