(Fri 11 Jul 08) Peugeot has issued some information about its latest coupé-cabriolet, the 308 CC, which goes on public display for the first time at the Paris Show in September this year.
The elegant 308 CC has a folding hardtop which can be raised or lowered in 20 seconds, a time which puts the car at the sharp end of it class. It uses a 140bhp two-litre turbo diesel engine and a six-speed manual gearbox, and Peugeot claims there is "increased rear legroom" compared with the 307 CC, which - if true - would certainly make change in this category. The 308 CC is the first Peugeot to use what the company calls an Airwave system; this consists of heater blowers built into the front seats to send warm air to the shoulders and necks of the driver and front passenger. Another nice new feature is the fact that all interior storage compartments can be locked remotely, which will help prevent theft of smaller items if the car is left alone with the roof down. Further details and UK pricing should be available later this year. |
