(Fri 18 Jul 08) Kia has released pictures of, and some technical information about, its new Soul compact MPV, which goes on sale early next year.
The front-wheel drive, five-door Soul hatchback will be slightly shorter and narrower than the cee'd but significantly taller, and it will have a choice of 1.6-litre petrol and turbo diesel engines and a two-litre petrol. There's no news yet on which engines will appear in the UK, and next week's British International Motor Show comes too early for a production version to be put on display (the world premiere being at the Paris Show in October). However, Kia will be bringing the three Soul concepts shown earlier this year at Geneva (see separate story) to London, along with the Kee sports coupé, the ex-cee'd cabriolet and the low-emissions eco_cee'd. The ExCel event will be the first at which all these concepts have been shown under one roof. |
