(Tue 22 Jul 08) The fastest car ever to wear the Corvette badge has arrived on these shores and is now on display at the British International Motor Show.
The ZR1 is powered by a furious supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine which produces a maximum of 638bhp, giving the car a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds, a 0-100mph time of 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 205mph. A small number of ZR1s will become available to UK customers towards the end of the year at a price that has not yet been confirmed. Also on show in London are the 498bhp seven-litre V8 Corvette Z06 (0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, top speed 198mph), which costs £62,100, and the 431bhp 2008 C6 (0-62mph in 4.3 seconds, top speed 186mph), which is priced from £45,995 and is therefore actually cheaper than last year's model despite a nearly 10% increase in maximum power.
