The fastest car ever to wear the Corvette badge has arrived on these shores and is now on display at the British International Motor Show.

The ZR1 is powered by a furious supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine which produces a maximum of 638bhp, giving the car a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds, a 0-100mph time of 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 205mph. A small number of ZR1s will become available to UK customers towards the end of the year at a price that has not yet been confirmed.

Also on show in London are the 498bhp seven-litre V8 Corvette Z06 (0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, top speed 198mph), which costs £62,100, and the 431bhp 2008 C6 (0-62mph in 4.3 seconds, top speed 186mph), which is priced from £45,995 and is therefore actually cheaper than last year's model despite a nearly 10% increase in maximum power.
