| Citroen Concept Reaches UK | ||

(Mon 02 Jun 08) Nearly two years after its world debut in Paris, the Citroen C-Métisse concept will make its first UK appearance at next month's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The C-Métisse is a dramatic-looking sports car with a carbonfibre body and gullwing doors. It's designed to be both quick and economical, thanks to the use of a 208bhp V6 turbo diesel engine and two electric motors, one powering each of the rear wheels. As with most hybrids, the C-Métisse can run using just the engine, or just the electric motors, or both. As a result, it's predicted to have a top speed of 155mph and a 0-62mph time of 6.2 seconds, but also to achieve 45mpg on the official combined fuel economy cycle and emit a relatively low 174g/km of CO2. Another Citroen on display at Goodwood will be the Xsara which Colin McRae drove in the 2003 World Rally Championship. The Xsara will be one of several cars gathered together to honour McRae, who died in September last year.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from July 11-13. For more details visit www.goodwood.co.uk/fos. |
