(Tue 03 Jun 08) Nissan has announced that its factory in Sunderland will start building a new compact car from 2010.
The design sketch shown here gives the vaguest of ideas as to how the car will look, and we're not likely to see anything more definite for a while yet. However, Nissan has confirmed that it is developing a new A-segment platform which will be used for "at least three" new models, one of which is to be the next-generation Micra. Cars on this platform will also be built in four other countries, including India, where a new facility is being built at Chennai by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. |
