(Tue 03 Jun 08) The pricing for the new Volvo XC60, which arrives in UK dealerships in October, won't be fully confirmed until July, but Volvo has come up with estimates ranging from £24,750 to £34,495.
There are three trim levels - S, SE and SE Lux - and a choice of 161bhp and 183bhp turbodiesel engines and the 281bhp turbo petrol T6. The diesels are available in all versions, but you can't have a T6 in the most basic S trim. All versions have four-wheel drive and are fitted with the City Safety system, which helps to reduce the effects of low-speed impacts and has already won several awards even before going into production. The XC60 will make its first UK appearance at the Canary Wharf Motorexpo on June 9-15, and will then be taken on a countrywide tour which includes three Taste Festivals in London (June 19-22), Bath (July 3-6) and Birmingham (July 10-13) plus the Round The Island sailing race on the Isle of Wight (June 27-29) and the CLA Game Fair in Blenheim (July 25-27). If you miss all that, the XC60 will be available for test drives at dealerships in October. Customer deliveries will start in November.
