(Wed 04 Jun 08) Shortly before the introduction of the new Ibiza five-door, SEAT has released the first official images of its three-door counterpart.
It's far from being the same car with two doors missing. SEAT is calling this one the SportCoupé, and it's clearly designed to provide extra visual appeal. It rides 17mm lower than the five-door and has several unique design features, including the most sensible rear side window shape SEAT has come up with in years.
Technical details have yet to be confirmed, but we already know that 1.6-litre petrol versions will be available with the Volkswagen Group's recently-developed seven-speed DSG dual-clutch semi-automatic gearbox. FR and Cupra models of the Ibiza will also be sold in this body style. |
