Fuel Cell Honda Starts Production

(Mon 16 Jun 08)

Honda's latest hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the FCX Clarity, has gone into small-scale production in Japan.

Honda FCX 10 - Clarity Production Starts.

Honda intends to build around 200 examples over the next three years, and will start leasing cars to customers in the US this month and Japan in the autumn. The lease costs around £290 per month including maintenance and collision insurance, and among the first customers are actress Jamie Lee Curtis and her film-maker husband Christopher Guest.

There is no talk at this stage of the FCX Clarity becoming available in the UK, though Honda points out that it will be introducing a more conventional hybrid to this country next year.
