| Hyundai i10 Gets Big Engine | ||

(Mon 16 Jun 08) Well, we say "big". What Hyundai has done here is to introduce a 1.2-litre petrol engine to the i10 city car range. So it's not actually very big at all, but it's larger than the 1.1-litre unit which has so far been the only one available in the UK.
The 1.2 produces a maximum of 76bhp, which gives it a 0-62mph time of 12.8 seconds and a top speed of 102mph. It's therefore considerably quicker than the 1.1, but the official combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures remain the same at 56.5mpg and 119g/km. The i10 1.2 will arrive at UK Hyundai dealerships in September. Prices are £7545 for the Comfort, £8345 for the Comfort automatic and £7995 for the new Style model, which features a certain amount of interior leather. ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) is available as a £350 option on all the 1.2-litre cars. Hyundai Gallery Previous: Fuel Cell Honda Starts Production Next: New Nissan Notes |
