New Nissan Notes

(Mon 16 Jun 08)

Nissan has added a special edition model to the Note range and introduced a more powerful diesel engine.

Nissan Note 18 - Acenta S.

The special edition is called the Acenta S, and it's basically the same as the existing Acenta except that it has climate control air-conditioning and a 6-CD autochanger with auxiliary input as standard. The extra equipment adds £400 to the price, and the Acenta S is available with 1.4- and 1.6-litre petrol engines, as well as 86PS and 103PS versions of the 1.5-litre dCi turbo diesel.

"What 103PS version?" you may be asking. Well, that's the new diesel. 103PS works out at 102bhp, which is 17bhp more than the previously most powerful Note diesel produced. Straightline performance improves substantially - the top speed is now 112mph, while 0-62mph takes 11.1 seconds. Combined fuel economy is 55.4mpg, and the CO2 rating is 136g/km, so the new engine still puts the Note in VED Band C. A diesel particulate filter is fitted as standard, and there's extra sound proofing.

The new engine adds £1150 to the cost and brings prices to £14,245 and £14,995 for the Acenta S and Tekna versions respectively. Nissan dealers will start accepting orders in the second week of July.
