(Wed 18 Jun 08) As Jaguar and Land Rover transfer from Ford to Tata ownership, the two brands are investing £700 million in technology to improve the environmental performance of their vehicles.
This also involves the recruitment of up to 600 new employees, many of whom should be experienced, degree-educated engineers, though there are also vacancies in purchasing, finance and human resources. "This recruitment drive demonstrates Jaguar Land Rover's confidence in our future," says newly-appointed CEO David Smith. "With our new owners, we have entered an exciting era with stunning new models and ambitious technologies. I can't remember a better time to be part of the British car industry, and certainly it is a brilliant time for Jaguar Land Rover."
