(Fri 20 Jun 08) The estate version of the Renault Clio, formally named Sport Tourer, is available to order now at prices starting from £12,095 - or perhaps less.
The figure mentioned above refers to the Dynamique with the 1.2 16v 75 petrol engine. From launch, all versions (well, nearly all) will be in the Dynamique trim level, but there's no shortage of engine choice - you can also have the turbocharged 1.2 100, the 1.6 VVT (with automatic transmission) and the dCi 86 and dCi 106 turbo diesels. The dCi 106 is the most expensive in the range at £14,495. You may have noticed occasional touches of vagueness in our reporting. That's because Renault is offering another Sport Tourer called the Expression, but it's a limited-edition special and not therefore part of the official range. It has less equipment and a narrower engine choice, and costs £11,215 for the 1.2 16v 75 and £12,365 for the dCi 68.
The rear end of the Sport Tourer isn't the most elegant we've ever seen, but you can't argue with the practicality. Depending on what you do with the split-folding rear seat, luggage volume ranges from 439 litres to 1277 litres, which is pretty good, though not class-leading. A further 72 litres can be released by chucking out the removable boot floor. Renault Gallery Previous: Corvette ZR1 Pricing Next: Volkswagen Scirocco Prices |
