(Mon 30 Jun 08) Toyota is adding to the standard specification of its mid-range compact MPV. The Verso SR, which lies between the T2 and T3 within the Verso range, now comes with front parking sensors (in addition to the existing ones at the rear) and an in-dash 6-CD autochanger, and there's also a new design of 16" alloy wheel.
Prices have risen very slightly to £17,545 for the 1.8-litre petrol model (plus £500 if you want the semi-automatic MultiMode gearbox) and £18,620 for the 2.2 D-4D turbo diesel. For £940 more you can have a rear-seat entertainment system consisting of two 7" removable screens which can be attached to the front headrests. In the normal course of events, one of them is a master screen into which you can load DVDs, and a further extra-cost option is to have two master screens to account for the possibility of the rear seat occupants wanting to watch different DVDs at the same time. Other news about the Verso is that the T Spirit near the top of the range is now available with tinted rear glass as standard.
