(Wed 05 Mar 08) The limited edition XKR-S, of which just 200 examples will be built, is the fastest production Jaguar since the XJ220 supercar.
That's in terms of top speed. There has been no change to the standard XKR's 416bhp supercharged 4.2-litre V8 engine other than a change to the ECU which raises the limited maximum speed from 155mph to 174mph. The 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds remains as before. There are several other alterations, though, including a new exhaust system designed to produce a sportier note under hard acceleration, a ride height reduced by 10mm, Alcon R Performance brakes (with 400mm diameter discs at the front, 350mm at the rear) and revised suspension settings.
All models will be in the coupé body style and painted in Ultimate Black. Sales are restricted to European markets only. |
