(Wed 12 Mar 08) Honda has confirmed the UK prices of the new Accord saloon, which goes on sale here on June 1.
The entry-level model costs £19,250, and is in fact the only to come in at under £20,000. For that you get the two-litre 154bhp i-VTEC petrol engine, a manual gearbox and the ES trim level. Honda is also supplying a 198bhp 2.4-litre i-VTEC (which, like the smaller version, comes with either manual or automatic transmission) and the new 2.2 i-DTEC turbo diesel, which produces 148bhp and is availably only with a manual gearbox. Honda expects that the most popular trim level will be ES GT, which includes 17" alloy wheels, part-leather upholstery, cruise control, some aerodynamic tweaks, sports suspension and climate-control air-conditioning. At the top of the scale there's EX, which includes DVD satellite navigation, a Bluetooth hand-free phone system, full leather seats (heated in the front), a rear parking camera and a 6-CD audio system. The "key grade" Accord - in other words the one that Honda expects to sell most of - is the 2.2 i-DTEC ES GT, which costs £21,900. The most expensive car in the range is the 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT with Tech Pack, yours for £26,650. The Accord Tourer estate will arrive on the UK market on September 1. Prices for that one will be announced in the next few weeks. Honda Gallery Previous: Proton Launches GEN-2 Saloon Next: Budget Report 2008 |
