(Wed 19 Mar 08) Jeep reckons that the revised 2008 model year Grand Cherokee is the most luxurious car it has ever built.
All versions now have a slightly modernised front end and new wheel design, along with interior upgrades such as new soft-touch dashboard materials, a new steering wheel adjustable for both height and reach, new instruments, redesigned armrests and even improved cupholders. Limited and Overland models come with a leather-covered handbrake lever, while the Overland gets new leather upholstery on the doors, the dashboard and the front two rows of seats. As an option, the Grand Cherokee has the MyGIG "infotainment" system which boasts touchscreen-controlled navigation, MP3 player compatibility and the possibility of storing up to 1600 songs on the 20GB hard drive. Jeep has also introduced a new trim level called S-Limited. This includes MyGIG as standard, along with enough styling features to make it resemble the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 without going so far as to share the SRT's incredible performance and stomach-churning fuel consumption.
