(Wed 07 May 08) Captivated as we are by the looks of the Alfa Brera, we've never been fully satisfied with the way it handles, and it seems that someone in Alfa Romeo is of the same view.
That would explain why Prodrive (the British company behind the Subaru rally and Aston Martin race teams, among much else) has been commissioned to rework the suspension for UK roads. Prodrive has spent a year on this, and now that the engineering department in Italy has signed off the project, it has been confirmed that 500 special-edition Brera S models will go on sale next month. The Brera S will be available with the 2.2-litre four-cylinder and 3.2-litre V6 petrol engines, but not as a diesel. Full details, including prices and the interior and exterior changes that are part of the same package, will be confirmed within the next fortnight.
