Volkswagen has announced the prices of the new Passat CC four-seat coupé, which will be available to order within the next few days.

There are two trim models, an un-named entry-level version and one called GT. The standard car comes with a 158bhp 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine with six-speed manual gearbox and a 138bhp 2.0 TDI turbo diesel with either manual transmission or the twin-clutch DSG system.

Standard equipment for this car includes 17" alloy wheels, dual-zone air-conditioning, six-way electrically adjustable seats, a multifunction leather steering wheel and a touchscreen audio system with a 6-CD autochanger. Prices range from £21,040 for the 1.8 TSI to £23,140 for the TDI with DSG.

The diesel - with either gearbox - also comes in GT form, as does the 297bhp 3.6-litre V6 petrol car with four-wheel drive. Volkswagen's three-way adjustable Adaptive Chassis Control suspension is standard on this car (and an option on the non-GT), and you also get front foglights, 18" alloys, tinted windows and "Silversprint" upholstery.

Prices for the GT start at £22,770 for the 2.0 TDI manual and extend to £31,120 for the 3.6, which is available only with the DSG gearbox.

Two more engines - a 168bhp version of the 2.0 TDI and a 198bhp two-litre petrol turbo - will go on sale later this year. Prices will be confirmed nearer the launch date.
