(Mon 12 May 08) Cadillac reckons that its new CTS-V has set the fastest time ever for a production saloon car round the Nürburging race circuit.
John Heinricy took the 550bhp supercharged 6.2-litre V8-engined car round the track in 7 minutes 59.32 seconds. Cadillac acknowledges that there is no single reliable source for Nürburging lap times, but is not aware of any comparable car having gone any faster. The CTS-V is still in the late stages of its development, but according to Cadillac it is virtually the same as it will be when it goes on sale in the US this autumn. |
