Audi is revealing an updated version of its TT clubsport quattro at this month's Wörthersee Tour in Austria.

Based on the TT Roadster, the clubsport has near-invisible A pillars, suggesting a wraparound windscreen, along with large rollover bars, two humps where the compartment for the folding roof normally goes on the production car, a front lip spoiler, a diffuser-style rear bumpers and polished 19" alloy wheels fitted with 255/35 tyres.

Under the bonnet there's a 296bhp version of the Volkswagen Group's 2.0 TFSI turbocharged petrol engine, which drives all four wheels through an S tronic twin-clutch gearbox. The brake system, including 340mm front and 310mm rear discs, has been taken from the TTS.

For the moment, the clubsport is strictly a show car, though those teasing young scamps at Audi have said that small-scale production "hasn't been ruled out".
