(Wed 05 Nov 08) Hyundai will introduce a new turbo diesel, known as the R-Engine, to the UK market in January 2010.
There are two versions of the four-cylinder R-Engine, a two-litre producing 181bhp and a 2.2 with a maximum of 198bhp - exceptionally high figures for a unit of this type. Greater efficiency generally leads to improved fuel economy as well as increased power, and Hyundai is promising best-in-class economy figures which would also lead to low CO2 emissions, though we haven't seen details of any of this yet. The R-Engine will first appear in the all-new Tucson and the facelifted Santa Fe. Hyundai Gallery Previous: Lowest-Profile Tyre Next: More Economical Citroen C1 |
