A customised version of the SsangYong Rexton proved so popular when it was displayed at the British International Motor Show earlier this year that SsangYong has decided to put it into production.

The Rexton R-Line is based on the 270 SPR model, but it has been heavily modified by Bradford-based company Project Kahn. Features include black paintwork, 22" Kahn Design alloy wheels, lowered suspension, a Kahn Design exhaust system and black nappa leather/Alcantara upholstery with red stitching.

It costs less than it looks like it should. The list price is £24,995, which includes the usual SsangYong three-year/60,000-mile warranty and three years' European roadside assistance cover. What it doesn't include is a premium sound system, but that's deliberate, since SsangYong reckons that most owners will want to choose their own audio set-up.
