(Fri 07 Nov 08) Audi has introduced its 168bhp 2.0 TDI turbo diesel engine (as found also in the TT we tested recently) to the A5 range.
The engine gives the front-wheel drive A5 a top speed of 140mph, 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds, 53.3mpg combined fuel economy and 156g/km CO2 emissions. For quattro four-wheel drive versions, the top speed is the same, 0-62mph takes 8.2 seconds, while the economy and CO2 figures are 47.9mpg and 156g/km. Basic prices are £28,485 for the front-wheel drive car and £30,010 for the quattro. There's a £950 upgrade to Sport trim, and as with all A5s there is now also an S line specification which adds £2250 to the original price. Audi dealers are taking orders for the A5 2.0 TDI now, and customer deliveries will start in March next year. |
