(Mon 17 Nov 08) If you like the idea of owning a Clio Renaultsport 197 but feel that it's a bit too raw for everyday driving, the new Lux version might be of interest.
Mechanically it's the same as the standard 197, but it has extra equipment in the form of leather upholstery, automatic climate control air-conditioning, automatic headlights and wipers, cornering lights, extra-tinted rear windows, Renaultsport carpet mats, a 60W MP3/CD player and satin chrome finished air vents. These items would normally add £2000 to the price of a 197 if specified as optional extras, but at £16,995 the Lux is just £1000 more expensive than the standard car. There are further extras, of course, such as the suspension tweaks known collectively as "Cup chassis" which cost £400. |
