(Thu 20 Nov 08) Three months after issuing the first pictures, Infiniti has given the G37 Convertible its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Based on the G37 Coupé, the Convertible uses completely different body panels from the windscreen back, and is 28mm wider. Most importantly, it has a three-piece folding metal roof which opens or closes in around 30 seconds at the press of a switch on a centre console. As with the Coupé, there's a 316bhp 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine under the bonnet, and customers have the choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic with magnesium paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. Standard equipment includes leather seats which can be heated or cooled, an adaptive dual-zone climate control air-conditioning system with a fan speed which adjusts according to roof position and vehicle speed, and a rear parking camera. The G37 Convertible will go on sale across Europe next summer. Prices will be confirmed nearer the time. |
