SEAT Reveals Exeo

(Thu 02 Oct 08)

SEAT is using the Paris Show to publicise its entry into the executive saloon market, which it is entering for the first time.

SEAT Exeo 01.

The Exeo is based on the Volkswagen Group's Premium platform, so it's more or less closely related to the VW Passat, Audi A4 and Skoda Superb. The show car features double-thickness door windows (for lower noise levels and to deter tealeaves), twin-zone climate control air-conditioning with air quality sensor, a tilt sensor alarm, swivelling xenon headlights and a solar sunroof which gathers enough power to keep the ventilation system running after the engine has been switched off.

Under the bonnet of the Paris car sits a 198bhp 2.0 TSI turbo petrol engine. This will be the most powerful unit in a range which also includes two other petrols and three diesels.

The Exeo will reach the UK next summer. Prices will be confirmed nearer the time.
