(Thu 02 Oct 08) Skoda's most popular model is being presented at the Paris Show in slightly revised form. The most obvious changes to the Octavia are at the front, where Skoda has fitted new xenon headlights, a redesigned radiator grille and a one-piece bumper. Alterations to the rear are limited to the light clusters and the bumper, which now has integrated reflectors.
Inside, the steering wheel, instrument panel, air-conditioning controls and some of the trim details have been rethought, while new upholstery has been introduced on all trim levels. New front headrests, designed to improve safety in the event of a rear impact, are also being fitted across the range. Regarding the oily bits, Skoda has introduced a 120bhp version of the Volkswagen Group's 1.4-litre super/turbocharged TSI petrol engine, and seven-speed twin-clutch DSG semi-automatic transmission is now available on 1.4 and 1.8 turbo petrol models.
