(Mon 06 Oct 08) The slightly unfortunately-named WallysCar Izis, launched at the Paris Show, is a plastic-bodied leisure vehicle with clear references to the original Willys Jeep.
It uses a plastic body (with a lifetime guarantee) on a galvanised steel chassis (14-year anti-corrosion guarantee) and in standard form it has a 75bhp 1.4-litre Peugeot engine, though there is also an electric version. It's even going to be built in right-hand drive form, and WallysCar sales manager Rene Boesch is looking for a UK importer. Holiday resort rental operations are a key target for future sales. |
