(Thu 16 Oct 08) In the same month that Channel 4 abandoned plans to launch three digital radio channels (fortunately others are still available), Ford has announced that it is extending its digital radio provision to the Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy ranges.
DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radios are now available as standard on Ghia, Titanium, Titanium X and Titanium X Sports of the three models, as they have already been on the Focus, C-MAX and Kuga for several months. On other models the Sony DAB CD system is offered as a £300 option, or you can have the Sony DAB 6CD for £500. At the same time, Ford is also offering USB connectivity on several models. The ability to play audio files from a memory stick, MP3 player or mobile phone is available for £50 on Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy models already fitted with digital radio or satellite navigation for £50. It's also an option for Zetec, Zetec S and Titanium versions of the new Fiesta, this time costing £200 but with the extra features of Bluetooth connectivity and voice control. |
