(Mon 01 Sep 08) The McRae Gathering - a huge tribute by Subaru owners to the late World Rally Champion Colin McRae - ended this weekend with two new world records.
1086 Subarus, most of which had been involved in a motorway convoy which at one point stretched over 30 miles, gathered at the Prodrive test track in Warwickshire to spell out the name Colin McRae and the Scottish flag before embarking on a parade round the track itself. Both feats have been registered with the Guinness Book of Records. The event also raised an estimated £40,000 for charities nominated by the McRae family. |
